Sisir Saras 2020

#Rural#fair Sisir Saras was held from January 4 and continue till January 14 at IDCO Exhibition Ground, Unit II, #Bhubaneswar, #Odisha. This fair organized by Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS Odisha) & aims to create a market linkage of rural producers among urban consumers.

Over 25 states have been a part of this fair. Rural #entrepreneurs and self-help groups from 30 districts of Odisha were there. This 11-day fair provides a larger platform of sale and display of the products made by self-help groups (SHG). This year as many as 300 stalls will be opened at the Mela ground.

Bamboo crafts, decorative flowers, winter garments from North East, handloom, silk and rot ironworks from Uttar Pradesh, Tasar from Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, household decorative items from Rajasthan and Gujarat, food items from Maharashtra, handloom and home furnishing products from Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, Phulkari garment Products of Punjab, woolen and dress materials from Jammu and Kashmir were the center of attraction in the fair.

Besides, SHGs and other organizations from all the 30 districts of Odisha had taken part in the event with their products include terracotta items from Balasore, Balangir, Keonjhar, Subarnapur; Food and spices from Rayagada, Kandhamal, Nuapada and handloom items from Bargarh, Subarnpur, and Balangir.
The fair witnessed forest products from Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri, Kalahandi, Kaincha work of Kendrapada, Sabai work from Baripada, teak woodwork from Mayurbhanj and other such household products from other districts.

The event will also have cultural events scheduled every evening of #SisirSaras2020. It will have Odissi dance performances, Odia and Hindi melody nights, folk dance and light comedy shows.
